I'm not really starting over totally. I still have The Arctic Flow for my pop music aspirations. However, I felt the time was right to launch Newport Sailing Club. The reasons for this new endeavor is so that I could have an outlet aside from The Arctic Flow for my ambient and instrumental compositions which is what my original intention was for TAF. Somehow what had originally started out as an ambient/instrumental project grew into a shoegaze project and then an indiepop project. Over the last few years I've been very blessed with meeting so many great people around the world who have been so kind in the remarks they made about my music. However, I've taken The Arctic Flow as far as I can for now and need something fresh to spark my creativity.
So, Newport Sailing Club is my attempt at a new start. A blank canvas to do whatever I feel creatively led to do. My vision is to partner with visual artists to produce videos and artwork to accompany the music. It's exciting to start again. I am building this thing from the ground up. I just set up a Facebook page and soon I'll have a little blog and a bandcamp site. There is also a three song demo in the works that will be available as well as a video for our very first song.
